It was hours before the game 7 Stanley Cup Final when I met up with Canucks goalie, Roberto Luongo at his Vancouver residence.
CorruptCamel: Thanks for agreeing to this interview right before the big game.
Roberto Luongo: I actually can’t talk long. I need to finish my dinner and get to the arena to warm up.
CC: Of course. I’ll be quick. Fans want to know, what does a star goalie eat before the biggest game of his career?
RL: I dunno, ask Tim Thomas! HA, just kidding. I eat steak and pasta. Lots of protein and carbs are important for an athlete.
CC: Looks delicious.
RL: Hey, when you came in, did you see a video game lying around anywhere?
CC: Can’t say I did, no. Why?
RL: That’s odd, I lost my game and can’t find it anywhere. Sorry, let’s get on with the interview.
CC: Great. So, there’s a lot of pressure on you. Are you nervous?
RL: Sure, but I’m also really excited. It’s not often you get to play for the Stanley C–GACK!
CC: Oh my god, are you okay?
RL: [Grabs at his throat]*COUGH*
CC: Um, your face is getting really red, should I get some help maybe?
RL: No, no. I’m okay. Just choked a little. Actually, weirdest thing, it’s been happening quite a lot lately.
CC: Well, hopefully it’s not a sign of things to come.
