Lance Armstrong has been stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and banned from the sport of cycling for doping. On top of that, sponsors are dropping him faster than he dropped his challenge against the accusations.
I guess he shouldn’t have left a bunch of adhesive sticky notes lying around that said: pick up milk, call Sheryl, dope up before big race…that’s what happened, right?
After surviving cancer, Lance Armstrong did an amazing job raising cancer awareness and raising a shit-ton of money towards cancer research. You can strip him of his titles and ban him from the sport of cycling, but the positive that he has done far outweighs the negative.
If only he had just come clean, and said, “I doped, but so did most of the cyclists.”
Remember, in a sport full of doping he was still the best. With that said, he had to be stripped of his titles. Others have been stripped of titles for the same reason. Just ask Floyd Landis, who was stripped of his 2006 titles in 2010.
Now, let’s have some fun at Lance’s expense, shall we?
Remember those yellow LIVESTRONG bracelets people wore partially because they stood for something, but more so because they were trendy? Sure you do, you’ve got one in a drawer beside your Pogs, Magic cards, and that picture of you in a trucker cap and a pink shirt with a popped collar. Go get it and let’s update it for 2012!
