LOL, cold and funny. What a winning combination!

I know here in Nashville one has to be careful, cause there are professional beggars, who make a decent living off of tourists. Course there’s also a lot of people in dire straights cause of the economy.

@The Rabid Iguana – sounds like you got schooled. It’s funny how people are more than willing to chip in for a parking meter, but much less likely to give a homeless guy change for food. I guess we can relate to the person who needs change for the parking meter more than we can relate to someone on the street.

I still remember one of the few guys who got money from me. He was smart, and I rewarded him for it.

It was on Front in front of the Harveys by St. Lawrence Market.

He was standing by a parking meter with a twonie in his hand. He asked me if I had 2 loonies, and kinda pointed towards the meter.

I opened my wallet to check. (Game over.)

I did, in fact, have two loonies. I had them in my freaking hand, when he says to me, “Actually, buddy, I’m homeless, do you have any change?”

Like, WTF am I going to say here? ‘No, I don’t have any?’

I gave him the two bucks and have told this story like a hundred times. By my math, he got my two cents worth.

Didn’t expect to go out on a math pun, but alright, score.

There’s a beggar by my work who “pretends” to be ill and on crutches…I cought him once without crutches, strolling along college street, all healthy and both legs working great!
