		<description>@The Rabid Iguana - Thanks for response. I checked out the MythBusters episode (see edited post) and it was rather interesting. They actually didn&#039;t test it with the seat down, unless I missed that part or I watched the wrong episode and there were some confound variables to consider such as the methods used to apply the toothpaste, and also the fact they did the testing for fecal coliform in the bathroom, which included bringing the control toothbrushes into the bathroom thus possibly contaminating the controls. The amount of fecal coliform found was so low I don&#039;t think it&#039;s something we need to think of every time we brush our teeth anyway.</description>

		<description>Actually, MythBusters provided that putting the seat down does nothing to thwart the escape of poo particles.  

The proper response is to go prison style and just remove the seat.</description>
